#1386 What if we break the rule that all rules are meant to be broken?

Are you even able to notice I was writtin' briefly an' on a colloquial manner?
It seems like not. W/e, not a single fuck shall be given today n' no one cares.

PS: Thanks for your sidelight, maybe although it wasn't necessary.

PS 2: Are we going into "a truly/real/true(inserthereyouradjective) war" ain't equal to "Are we truly goin' to".

Greetings. ;)

#1387 You seem to take these things to heart.
Thing is, there are people following this thread who might take your "colloquial manner" as the right way to type things up, which is exactly the complete opposite of what this thread hopes to achieve, which is for people to practice their English in order to.. well, the obvious, improve it.

P.S: I realize it wasn't all that well written ( my post ) but I hope it gets the point across.

Cheers

#1381 #1387 Truly is an adverb, so you can't use it with a noun.

It means "verdaderamente", and it makes no sense.

You have to use it with a verb like #1386 said: "truly going into a war" or use an adjective: "going into a true war".

Otherwise it is incorrect.

#1389 I know it's and adverb of manner and I understand what you mean, but "truly" can be used with some nouns like "war" without a "preposition", that was my bad before. Check if you want, somehow this is becoming insane, we should not distort the thread. :)

So, having said that, keep practising, guys.

PS: I think you realized the colloquial way I used it on that context, if you didn't, my apologies.

See ya and take care! ;)

By the way, does someone in the thread speak swedish or know any who speaks it?

#1400 #1401 is totally right. Swedish is a hard lenguage to learn, and is a hard country, too.

It's not easy to move to another country, and neither is to fit in there when you don't speak the lenguage, you don't know anybody and you don't have a job. I'm an inmigrant, and believe me, I know what I'm talking about. It's so so hard!

You'll need to sign contracts (to rent an apartment, to have a phone, etc), you'll need to deal with a lot of legal papers, you'll need to go someday to visit the doctor (I hope no, but these things happen), etc .... you'll need to learn Swedish (minimum 4 or 6 months) and/or to get somebody to go with you to do all these kind of things.

#1404 #1405 What do you suggest then? I want to move out of Spain, I'm looking forward to the future and I see so hard to grow up here. Maybe I have other countries a bit overstimated and of course it must be hard to be away from your home, stablish in a new country and get a job...

#1406 I know it, hard times. I had to make the same decision months ago. Well, I made the decision last year, but I'm here since .... what a coincidence! TODAY IS MY SIXTH MONTH HERE!!

#1408 Yep, the problem is they only go partying one time per year. They're shut up in their homes the rest of the year because of the snow ;)

btw, what's the meaning of "xD"?

Ligia

#1407 "Swedish girls are too difficult", "you may have to pay a lot of Fantas"

#1406 "Looking forward to" means something like "being eager to", like you want something to happen so bad. I think it doesn't fit in your sentence. You can just say "I'm looking into the future".

"I see so hard to grow up here" doesn't sound too good to me neither. An "it" is missing somewhere, maybe "I see it so hard..."
