All in all, Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE is an RPG that's roughly 85% Shin Megami Tensei, 15% Fire Emblem, and somehow ends up feeling like something completely separate from either of the two. It strikes a middle ground that's rooted in the format of many modern role playing titles, boasting an energetic and dynamic combat system all wrapped up in a setting that takes J-Pop cheesiness to astral heights. While it's so extremely niche that we doubt it'll convert any nonbelievers in the slightest, there's a remarkably lengthy and enjoyable experience to be found here for anyone that doesn't already have stage-fright. Even if the idea of pop-star superheroes is an immediate turn off, a slew of rewarding mechanics might just be enough to pull you back in. Whether you ignore the silliness or embrace it, we'd dare say that any title featuring a rocket-powered cyborg pegasus is worth investigating.

Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE es uno de los juegos de rol japonés más originales y fascinantes que hemos visto en esta generación. Nos mete de lleno en la industria del espectáculo japonesa, nos presenta una visión muy particular de Tokio y también nos lleva a una dimensión paralela llena de sorpresas.
Eso sí, si sois fans de Fire Emblem y estáis interesados en el juego por su relación con la saga de Nintendo, debéis tener en cuenta que su jugabilidad se asemeja mucho más a la de Shin Megami Tensei (una saga también legendaria, aunque no tan popular en nuestras tierras). Pero vais a encontrar un montón de elementos y referencias a ambas sagas, y lo más importante: uno de los mejores juegos de rol de Wii U, al que sólo Xenoblade Chronicles X puede hacer sombra. Lástima que los textos estén en inglés, pero si domináis el idioma y os gusta el género no deberíais perdéroslo.

Tokyo Mirage Sessions demuestra el gran hacer de Atlus a la hora de crear RPG tradicionales con una vuelta de tuerca a lo tradicional en ambientación y con sistemas de combate altamente adictivos, pero por desgracia no se despega para nada de aquello que ya domina. Múltiples carencias técnicas y una escasísima ambición le pasan también factura. Es una pena porque hay mimbres para mucho más. Pero eso no quita que estemos ante un juego divertido y que hará las delicias de los amantes de los productos de la empresa y especialmente aquellos que disfruten de la industria musical japonesa y el universo idol. Lo fans de Fire Emblem se quedan con las ganas de un juego de la saga en sobremesa esta generación. Habrá que esperar a NX, y esperemos que el futuro venga también con una secuela mejorada de esta nueva franquicia de Atlus, que tiene gran potencial.

Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE es una de las sorpresas más agradables que nos ha dejado Wii U en su breve pero intensa existencia. Toda una rareza destinada a un público muy concreto y de nicho que esconde una aventura de rol japonés tan clásica como disfrutable, con la única y gran peculiaridad de contar con una historia, ambientación y temática de lo más atípica que no será plato del gusto de todos.
Tanto el guion como la ciudad de Tokio en la que se desarrolla podrían haber dado mucho más de sí, y en cierto sentido a veces peca de conservadora en sus mecánicas, pero esto no ha evitado que hayamos pasado unas 50 horas entretenidísimas de principio a fin luchando, explorando mazmorras y deleitándonos con la ingente cantidad de guiños y referencias que esconde a Fire Emblem y Shin Megami Tensei. Si os gusta el género y la locura japonesa que plantea no os echa para atrás, aquí tenéis una opción de compra muy recomendable y atractiva con la que ir preparando la despedida de la actual consola de Nintendo con uno de sus juegos más únicos y peculiares.
