We are happy to announce that GIANTS Gaming from the European LCS and Immortals from the NA LCS have officially joined the League of Legends lineup for IEM Gyeonggi. This December, these teams will compete for the coveted IEM trophy and a slot at the IEM World Championship Katowice taking place early next year.
GIANTS Gaming have shown us some good plays in the EULCS although their overall performance kept them to the lower part of the standings. They have accumulated a total of 20 Championship Points in the 2016 Summer Split placing them on the 7th place in that regards. IEM Gyeonggi will the current team’s first chance to prove themselves on the international stage.
Immortals took the NA LCS by storm in the 2016 Spring Split, going undefeated for several weeks and only conceding one game to Counter Logic Gaming. In the Spring playoffs they took third place after losing to TSM but winning against Team Liquid. The Summer Split was only little bit less impressive for Immortals as they took second place in the standings with a 16-2 record, behind TSM. They did not manage to secure a slot at Worlds, however, after losing in the playoffs to Cloud9.
Since then, the team underwent roster changes, bidding farewell to their former stars. We will see a new Immortals at IEM Gyeonggi and we can’t wait to watch them in action!
Interesting, pero sin saber el roster de Giants, poco se puede decir más.
