Do you still hang out with xPeke, Soaz and Cyanide?
When we went different paths last year we all ended up being really busy so we didn't get to see eachother much, aside of Cyanide occasionally being on the Analyst Desk.
Now when Origen qualified, we spend more and more time together when there's possibilities to do so and it feels like the relationship's we developed during the past 3 years have grown us to be some kind of brothers.
Hi Rekkles, how strong do you rate our team (ROCCAT)?
Think you guys have seemingly great scrim results and a even better line-up of players, but it hasn't transferred into wins in the LCS therefore it's hard to tell.
Do you still stay in touch with Deft?
I still talk weekly to Deft, sometimes a bit less (mostly due to the different time zones).
Mostly League-related discussions, but he told me to call him Kim so I guess that talks for itself ;)
How smooth is Reignover with the ladies?
Very smooth!
Febiven or Bjergsen?
Febiven.
Febiven or Froggen?
Febiven.
Also: Febiven, xPeke or Froggen?
Febiven
Who is your favorite champion to play outside of the ADC role?
Lee sin, because he's so versatile.
How do you make your hair look so good?
I'm Swedish, it's natural ; )
Hi Rekkles ! I love ADC pro players, and my favorite with you is Tabzz, what do you think about Tabzz?
He's a great player and really good friend of mine.
Piglet or Imp?
Imp, he's much cuter ; ).
Did u ever considered to join a NA team? and what are your thoughts about people like incarnatiOn who keep leaving Europe to join a NA team?
Yeah I did, however I'm still only 18 and leaving Sweden was already hard enough. I think going to NA is a great opportunity, but I don't feel like I've come to a point in my life where I'm ready to make a decision of that degree.
What are your thoughts on EU level in general compared to the east in particularly?
I think Europe has stepped up big time over the course of the last year or so and I think the fact that coaches were added was a big part of that (shoutout to my boy Deilor).
Did you win the bowling game?
Sadly not, Huni was a beast. Think I ended 3rd or 4th out of 7 in our group (teammates + manager + coach).
Best adc in the meta atm in your opinion?
I don't think there's a "best ADC" in today's meta. All champions have the potential to be good.
Why don't you play Draven when he is obviously OP?!?!?!
I don't consider Draven to be OP. He can be the best pick in one game but the worst in another.
If you could change anything about the game what would it be?
I think the game is in a good place at the moment. It's much more of a team game as you win & lose as a team.
Do you think Fnatic has a chance at winning worlds?
I definitely do. A lot of hard work has to be done till then but our team is willing to put in the work.
Would you rather date Sneaky, Xpeke, Deft, or Faker?
Deft. I'd swim the ocean for my boy.
Do you like living in Berlin?
It's hard to tell, I don't leave the house too much but it's easier to travel to Sweden from Berlin than from Cologne.
Who is the best Support in the World?
Probably YellOwStaR
What is your favorite Support Champ?
Thresh, you can make pretty sick plays with him and YellOwStaR is great on him.
Answer this statement: Adc is the weakest position in legue of legends right now. True or False?
False. It gets stronger as the game goes on, but it's not the strongest position. Jungle or support is the strongest as you can have a much greater impact on the game.
I've always been curious, in the LCS, do the teams talk to each other in all chat? And good luck this split :D
There's sometimes some funny discussions in the lobby before the match. However once we get in game we don't speak, other than saying GL HF.
How did talks with FNC organization go when you wanted to go back?
Fnatic approached me through Elements, as I mentioned before, it felt really natural to go back so I put aside the offers and focused on this one having talks with the management. We came to a mutual agreement really quickly, but the fact that the team did so well kept it on hold for a bit and left me with very little time to practice with the team for the Summer Split. However they are great players and great guys, so they were very open minded and made me feel like I had been part of the team for a longer period already.
Who won your bowling tourney!? Cause my bet was on you kind sir.
Huni. He throws so hard!
Top 4 adcs in EU and NA LCS?
No specific order.
NA: Sneaky, Doublelift, Piglet, WildTurtle.
EU: Hjärnan, Me, Freeze, Niels.
Honorable mention: Forg1ven is probably the best individual player we have in Europe, but he has to narrow of a champion pool to be included.
Rekkles would you like to join our ranked team, we need an adc and we are all challenjours :D
Sorry, I have to pass. But goodluck!
What is your opinion on Ashe coming back to the LCS? How does she fare against other ADCs atm?
I think Ashe is very different from other ADCs because she's got some sort of utility kit. Ashe in the team fights can be either used for cc/slow or as a hyper carry. Right now she is a really strong pick and has a strong laning phase. She has a weakness of being immobile but a good synergy with support can help out
Best bot lane combos?
The likes of Janna + Caitlyn are really strong. It's best to have a support who can make the ADC better or give them an escape if they don't already have one. It's not all about wombocombo etc.
Febiven was hovering over Jayce for a long time in your last game was he thinking of Picking or just a tease? Also if you won worlds what champ would you give your Fnatic skin to?
Time will tell ; ) Definitely Vayne, she's been my favourite champion since release and still is
Hey Rekkles! What are your thoughts on week one? PD: Thank for those fantasy points!
Week 1 was a success, we got off to the best possible start with 2 wins and it felt great! However, there's still some things that we need to improve on and everyone in the team is working hard to do that for next week.
What made you decide to rejoin Fnatic?
It felt really natural to come back home, even if they weren't as good as they already are.
You rejoined your former team, Fnatic, How does it feels like playing with an entire different roster(except Ystar) than before?
It feels great, I believe this line-up can go really far if we work hard.
Teaming up again with your former support, YellOwstaR, Do you think you're the best bot lane in EU right now?
I don't think we're the best bot-lane in Europe right now, but we're working really hard to achieve that status and I believe we both are capable of being the best.
FNATIC vs ORIGEN is probably the most awaited and hyped match this split, How do you feel about goin into a match against your former teammates?
I don't feel any particular excitement for our game vs Origen, even with xPeke and Soaz on the other side. A win is a win, a lose is a lose.
What teams do you think will be the top in this split?
I think Origen had a really strong showing in Week 1, so I'd put them with us up there. I also believe H2K and Roccat have good chances, even with their mediocre showings so far.
When did you start maining ADC? And what made you choose that role?
When Vayne was released back in season 2. Before that I played top, mainly Vlad, Akali and Jax. I was attracted to the possibility to play a ranged champion and still deal same amount of damage, it was also way safer. I got stuck with Vayne and became an AD carry
What would you do if you weren't a pro? If in college, what would you study?
I was studying computer technology before I left school to be a pro gamer, I was really interested in coding, HTML so probably would carry on with things like that
Do you regret leaving fnatic?
Yes and no, at the time with the information I had, it felt like the best decision I could make. I've learned a lot of valuable things that I wouldn't have learned otherwise, but I'm happy to be back.
How do you rate Forgiven and other adc's in EU compared to yourself?
You can't compare players with different styles, however Europe has a lot talented ADCs and I believe both me and Forg1ven are among them.
Hi Martin, what do you think of your new Coach Deilor?
I think Deilor is a really excellent coach and more importantly a great guy. The first evening I arrived he sat down with me for 2 or 3 hours and made me feel part of the family already from day 1.
How long do you think you will continue playing and even though it's really early since you're so young: do you have any ambitions to stay in the e-sports scene after your playing career is over or do you have completely different plans for your future ? (/u/Ashuna)
If I'm not playing League I'd probably like to go back to school and study computer technology.
What do you do to your hair?
I wash it every day or every second day. My hair is naturally 'going backwards' so it's easy to adjust it. I do spend some time to ensure it looks great on the LCS stage, I use hair wax because gel doesn't look nice and I don't use the hairspray. Props to the good genes being on my side.
Top Tier ADCs in SoloQ?
I think ADCs with escape is what you should look at. Playing non-escape ADCs like Ashe or Jinx in Solo Queue is either heaven or hell.
Do you think Origen is good?
I do. I think they have very strong roster and they performed great in the Week 1. Judging from their play they will be one of the top teams this split.
What was the biggest issue with Elements, and do you think their new roster has fixed it?
I think the old roster had way too many issues to pin-point a specific one. I'd definitely say the new roster won't be near as problematic but with the competition rising they'll need to work hard to achieve a spot at Worlds.
Will you play Kennen adc in these LCS?
I might, I think he has a very unique kit which could sometimes be very handy to have. I'm still playing it from time to time, but with the meta developing constantly it's hard to keep up with all champions so I don't always have time to practice him.
What do you consider your strength as a ADC?
I bring high mechanical skill, consistency and balanced play.
Also what are some of your weaknesses, and how are you trying to overcome/improve on them?
I think I have a lot of things to work on, but that is second priority for now as meshing with the team is way more important.
How has coach Deilor been to you?
He's been great. We're really similar in terms of personality so it feels like we can have long discussions about things without it being weird or awkward. I already consider him a good friend of mine.
Huni said in a article that he thinks yellOwstar is a awesome Hyung, has yellOwstar been taking a more mature role then he did before? and if yes does he demand more respect/authority from you as well?
I don't feel like YellOwStaR has a different position inside the team than what he had in the old one, but I definately feel like he improved a lot in terms of it and I think it comes down to him being a lot more comfertable in himself and the team around him. I'm really happy to have him by my side.
How does it feel to be back on fnatic? Is it awkward? Everything is how it used to be?
It feels really normal. I started my career with this organisation and being back feels great.
Do you think EU is better than NA?
I think at some point we should forget about this rivalry if we want the West to beat the Asian teams.
What's your favorite thing about playing league professionally?
Definately the fact that I get to do something for a living that I really enjoy doing.
What's your favorite thing to do outside of league?
I've always found comfort in reading books so that's something I do quite often.
Could you recommend any books? :)
The Maze Runner series all the way baby.
Will you start steaming more?
It's difficult to stream right now due to the internet in the house. However that will be fixed soon! Once that's fixed I will mainly stream on Saturdays.
Hej Martin! I just turned 15 and ive been playing league since around 1 year ago, i main ad and im diamond 4 right now. Ive been so busy lately with school and other stuff that i have like no time for league anymore. I feel like i can improve on so much if i just tried and prioritized league instead of school, sports etc... Ive told myself that if i can get diamond 1 or master this year i will just play league and try to get challenger asap. Do you think i have any chances of being a pro player? I know im young but its better to start as fast as possible right? My big dream is obviously to play in lcs and u are my biggest inspiration, it would mean the world to me if u answered this and i hope you have an awesome time in Fnatic. <3
When I was going to school and playing League on a constant basis my parents told me they were cool with it if I had a good balance between both. I stuck by that philosophy and I have my parents to thank for a lot of things today.
So try to find a "place" in your life where League doesn't disturb your education, that's what I did and if I wouldn't have gone pro, I still would have school to fall back on.
Much love buddy!
Have you played dota? What do you think of the game?
I haven't played Dota 2 yet so I have no opinion of the game. However I used to play a ton of Dota 1.
Opinions about Genja?
I have never talked to him because of the language barrier, he was a pretty decent player but I wouldn't rank him among the best.
Hey bud, glad to see you back on Fnatic. So, what are you looking forward to the most during this split?
Just meshing well with the team and it translating into results is definately on the top of my list for now.
How do you rate your bowling mechanics after yesterday?
At first I'd say 0/10! But after a while I wasn't too bad.
How funny is Huni in real life?
He's really funny! Even when he isn't trying to be funny he ends up being hilarious.
What's it like coming back to Fnatic? Like playing with the team and getting used to everything again?
It honestly feels normal. There isn't much that I needed to get used to again, it felt right coming back home.
What bot lane adc/support comp do you enjoy the most?
Kalista & Thresh. Being able to save eachother feels so clutch.
If you didn't play league professionally, what would be your dream?
Haven't really figured that one out yet, but ideally it would be something inside the computer technology industry.
Duo?
Maybe baby.
Where do you predict Fnatic to end in the Summer Split?
Definitely among the best, I'd love to steamroll Europe and go 18-0 and sweep play-offs, but realistically just getting first would already be super awesome.
Ultimative achievement in your career?
I don't really have an ultimative achievement that I'm striving for, I'm just going to play the game for as long as I feel a drive to do so, but I wouldn't say no to winning Worlds ;)
Best Fnatic line-up ever?
All of the players I've played with under the Fnatic tag are all great players and great persons so it's impossible to choose a group of 5 among them.
Main objective for this season? Worlds?
Meshing with the team and it translating into good results is on top of my priority list, but going to Worlds and performing is always up there as well.
Thoughts on current adc-meta?
I really feel like the current ADC meta is in a good spot. In one game one ADC can be absoloutely OP, meanwhile in the next not do anything, so I really like the diversity behind the current, different picks.
How did you get your name?
I got my name through my friends because I had a big group of friends playing League, I kept a cool head, just stayed focused even when I was playing with the pros so friends started to call me Vårdslös. I translated it to English and added another K
What do LCS Players say when they are shaking hands?
Good game.
Was there actually a time where a team with you and Incarnati0n was a possibility ?
Not really, not before he was unbanned. And now he felt like C9 was best offer for him and Fnatic was the best one for me, so there never was a possibility for us to play together
Do you have a girlfriend(Rekwife)?
No, I don't ;)
Would you describe your own playstyle as aggressive or passive?
Neither, it is calculated
Having been a long time Fnatic fan it was pretty sad to see you and the others go but extremely joyful to hear of your return, how do you yourself look upon your return to Fnatic in terms of relationships and synergy?
I'm working really hard to mesh well with the guys, just as much outside of the game. So far, everything has been going really well and it translated into a 2-0 in Week 1, but we're still working really hard to be even stronger and potentially represent Europe well at Worlds.
If Yellowstar wasn't your Support, who would you want to have as Support?
Probably Mithy, I consider him being very similar to YellOwStaR. As far as I know he is also also a shotcaller and has a similar role in the team
If you could bring any meta back from the past, which one would it be?
I wouldn't bring back any meta. This is the first time ever since I started playing the game where I feel like you win and lose as a team.
Are you able to sustain your relationships in Sweden and talk to friends and family as often as you wish?
Definately not, I rarely talk to my friends at home and maybe weekly with my family. It's tough to keep a stable relationship.
I plan on visiting worlds this year so when that point comes around will you pose with a Swedish flag with me?
I'd love that, Swedes all the way baby.
Who is your favourite pro player of all time? And why?
I don't really have a favourite pro player, I'm really close to most of them, inactive as active, so it's impossible to choose one specific.
Like burguers or hot dogs?
I don't like burgers or hot dogs, I choose French fries ;)
Would you rather fight 100 duck sized Huni's, or 1 Huni sized duck?
I'd rather not fight either, Huni too strong!
Which 3 teams do you think are gonna make worlds from EU and from NA (3 and 3 respectively)
It's really hard to tell the teams with the new point system but I hope we can make it
Tits or ass?
Ashe.
How do you get along with your new teammates?
I get along with them really well, almost all of us are of the same age, have same interests, similar sense of humour. Huni, ReignOver and Febiven are like my brothers and YellOwStaR is our older bro ;)
Glasses or no glasses?
I only need my glasses to see long distance, during LCS they were uncomfy.
How have you found adjusting to Fnactics all-in aggressive style as opposed to Elements laid-back, passive one.
It's hard to tell at this point because I don't feel like I've played enough with Fnatic yet to give a proper answer, but it's definately a lot more active and I have to look out for myself more since the team can go from being right next to me to their backline in a matter of seconds. I think it somewhat changes what Champions I'm able to play to an extent, but still really hard question to answer at this point.
Also, what was the team atmosphere in Elements’ house like by the end of the split?
It was a bit shaky, but we all knew that keeping ourselves in LCS was the main priority so even if we had a lot of issues, we managed to put them aside and work together. I'm actaully quite proud of that achievement, because it tought me a lot of valuable things.
Throughout your career you've always been able to play multiple champions at the highest level, but as the meta changes do you solely focus on the viable champions or do you actively practice all of the adcs?
The patch changes are introduced approximately every two weeks, sometimes jungle changes can affect ADC, I put the focus into ADCs that feel strong at that point, I'm open-minded when patch comes around so I also try out some new pics and see if they work out, then tell the coach
How hard is it to keep up with the meta?
It's kind of hard, you have to theorize a lot about the game to be ahead of your opponents, it's quite unexplored thing among pro players but when I have time I do it. I think I'm quite good at getting to understand the meta and playing it
How is your relationship with Huni and Reignover?
I actaully told my family before I left that I had a strong feeling me and Yeu-Jin (RO) would be good friends from day 1 because I felt a similarity between us. My prediction ended up being correct, we're already extremely close (probably the closest teammate at this point aside of YellOwStaR). As for Huni, he's a hilarious guy and extremely talented in the game. We've had a lot of discussions and have a lot of fun together, but I wouldn't say we have the whole "bromance" thing going on as I have with Yeu-Jin, but that gives me more time for him ;)
What are your thoughts on Lucian and Graves in the meta right now?
Both of them are quite weak. As I already mentioned meta developed into the state when a champion might seem perfect in one game and terrible in 99 others. They are viable but not as good as other ADCs
What do you think about Gambit ?
Gambit has a pretty stacked roster but it looks like they don't have a structure behind to make it work
Faker vs Pawn? Who is better? Imp vs Deft? Who is better? :) Thank you! You rock!
Deft all the way baby. Can't answer the midlane one because I don't have any insight on it
Compared to all the top tier adc in the world ex: deft, imp, uzi do you feel like you are up to par with their level?
No, but I'm working hard to get there. I would be really excited to play against them at Worlds though.
What kind of hair gel do you use? :D
No gel, just hair wax
How do you feel being in Fnatic again?
Being in Fnatic is great ;)
Who do you talk more in the gaming house to?
Outside the game I talk the most to ReignOver, in the game to YellOwStaR.
Do you think you will pick Vayne any game this season?
Time will tell ;)
Will you pat my back and tell me everything will be okey?
(patting the back) everything is going to be OK ;)
Hey, are you using snus? Which one is the best for you? Keep up the good work man! Big inspiration for me
No, I don't. Thanks ;)
How to carry feeding noobs in soloq without flame? Its impossible on eune big fan of u brah
There's a reason why Riot made that /mute all ;)
How is the new Fnatic environment compared to the old one?
This time my teammates are all about the same age as me and it creates a different atmosphere than what we had in the "old" team, but I really enjoy it because afterall I'm only 18 and hanging out with people above the 20's feels a bit awkward sometimes.
Fav Football team? (soccer) And what will you do in 5 years?
IFK Göteborg all the way baby In 5 years I still consider myself playing League. If not, then I'd like to go back to studying computer technology
What kind of music do you like? Favourite band/artist?
EDM
What did you feel was the largest factor for Elements showing last split and does it feel like you couldn't properly perform with that teams playstyle?
I think there was way to many issues to pin-point one specific, which translated into everyone underperforming. I think I could've played a lot better in hindsight, but at the time it was tough.
